THERE WILL be a new floating shop working the Macclesfield Canal this spring and summer.
This will be a floating farm shop selling jams, preserves and bakes, Janet Friend reports.
The owner, Naomi Cooper, works as a chef for the National Trust during the day, and will be putting her expertise into action in her narrowboat Sunflower.
Build-up a good trade
She will making an appearance along the waterway hoping to build-up a good trade with her 'home' made produce.
For a start she will be selling her produce over the weekends only, but has a wide variety of offerings as also being employed as an events co-ordinator at a community food hub, she was able to use up leftover produce and also began experimenting with preserves before buying her narrowboat.
She realised she loved making jams, chutneys and even an elderflower cordial, so the idea of a floating farm shop was born.
