THERE HAS BEEN VARIOUS CLOSURES of waterways during the last couple of days.

A RECORD INDEED for last Wednesday we met four boats on the move on the canal!

HAVING REACHED THE TOP END of the Lancaster Canal (pictured) I can most definitely tell that the waterway is not easy for narrowboats.

SO HERE WE ARE ON THE Lancaster Canal at last.

FRESH FIELDS INDEED and I had forgotten that the Lancaster is a broad canal, very wide so easy bridges for navigating.

It ain't looking good at all with a total of 33 stoppages in the space of the three weeks of Friday to Friday since the season began.
