GETTING STUNG IS NOT BY someone working a fast one on you.

The real thing

But the real thing as Keith Gudgin reports.

It is the possibility of being actually stung by bees that are nesting in a lock beam.

It is a beam on Weston Lock 24 on the Trent & Mersey Canal where the bees have made their home, so be extra careful when operating this lock.

Exercise caution

With Canal & River Trust telling boaters and towpath users are kindly asked to exercise caution when operating the lock.

It would seem the lock is is such poor condition that the bees have taken to the part of the beam that is rotten so has enabled access.
