THE VERY HOT WEATHER IS CERTAINLY causing problems for the trust.
For now there's another one, Keith Gudgin reports.
Blue-green algae
Blue-green algae bloom in Princes Dock on the Liverpool Link.
This was discovered yesterday, Friday, between Bascule Bridge and Mann Island Lock on the link.
So the navigation was closed after the identification of a suspected blue-green algae bloom in Princes Dock.
Water samples have been taken, and the trust is currently awaiting the results of a laboratory testing.
Prevent any spread
The trust tells that as a precaution, steps are being taken to prevent any potential spread of algae into the South Docks while the situation is assessed and is working closely with the dock owner, Peel, to manage the incident and prevent it spreading.
