THE RECENT VERY HOT WEATHER has proved too much for canal bridges.
With another one out of action, Keith Gudgin reports.
This is the Dock Swing Bridge 209 on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal that we are told that due to the high temperatures causing a malfunction.
Now that temperatures are somewhat lower the trust's team will be on site today (Saturday) o carry out checks with the hope it can be reopened.

Keadby Rail Draw Bridge on the Sheffield & South Yorkshire Navigation is always prone to high temperatures so has been out of action for the past three days, it set it its rail position and not able to withdraw for canal traffic.
