BOATERS NEEDING the Customer Service Facility at Sutton Stop at Hawkesbury Junction over the week-end were unlucky.

It was closed, with the only reason given by Canal & River Trust that it is closed  with immediate effect until further notice.

There was no intimation if or when it will be re-opened and no reason given for its closure.  This means there is no access to either the toilets or Elson disposal.

Reason not given

Here's the view of boater R J Spurr:

The reason is not given for the closure of the sanitary services at Hawkesbury Junction with no further information until 26th September.

Whatever this is is of serious concern to the many boaters who travel along this pleasant and lock free, Sutton Stop lock excepted, pound.

Goodness knows what the permanent moorers think about this but I know our Thetford will not last the four or five days a relaxed and pleasant trip between Hillmorton and Atherstone requires.

The Coventry Arm option is risky on your prop and the winding up Atherstone Flight not that easy.

Cruising should be worry free and with all the closures and restrictions this additional issue is not helping one bit.
