CANAL & RIVER TRUST have confirmed that the Customer Service Facility at Hawkesbury Junction is closed.
After it had inspected its roof that was found to be unsafe, Keith Gudgin reports.
It was our contributor R J Spurr who previously pointed out the roof was falling in, and remarking its loss so affecting boaters by the long distance to other service facilities.
Remain closed
The trust state that the building is now unsafe and will remain closed on safety grounds while an assessment is made, this affecting both the toilets and the Elsan point.
However it points out that there is a bin in a car park that is open, but not what it will take or if boaters would be allowed to use it.
Of this failure our contributor later pointed out—The Canal and River Trust have issued an update on the Hawkesbury services closure.
Apparently the roof is about to fall in. That's just this particular site, not the whole system!
[But perhaps it will be!—Editor.]
