IT WAS LAST Thursday that Canal & River Trust ordered all the boats out of Bugsworth Basin.
The strange reason being that the small arm would help save water in the 21 miles pound.
But Jonathan Molyneux who is moored just outside the basin tells us:
"Stop planks went in this afternoon. We are moored not far away so I shall keep an eye on the water levels. There are still four boats moored in the basin so if the levels drop significantly they could find themselves on the bottom."
Water voles
He is keeping an eye out for those voles!
The basin was closed last Thursday and boaters were told that they had until the evening to get out before stop planks were inserted.
