THE LATEST winter works to be cancelled is on the Hertford Union Canal.
This concerns the Accommodation Footbridge 10 at Hackney Wick in London, Keith Gudgin reports.
This bridge is at the junction between the Hertford Union Canal and the Lea and the work was scheduled to take place from Monday the 10th February until Friday (of course) the 14th.
Not ready
We are told that these third party works will be removed from the winter works programme as the third party is not ready to meet these dates.
But will instead be likely to be added to next winter's programme of works or even on a night-time closure. The waterway will not be affected when these works are eventually undertaken.
Then we are told that the works will require the towpath and navigation to be closed for a short period so that the new wider bridge can be lifted into place safely.
