THE CONTRACTORS attempting to repair the Loco Lift Bridge on the Huddersfield Broad Canal are still waiting for parts.
But what parts we are not told, Keith Gudgin reports.
Various parts
In the past contractors have waited for various parts that they thought were the problem.
It was parts for the motor, then it was parts for the clutch then parts for the electronics, but none solved the problem, which shows they were not first tested, a major mistake.
For when they were fitted the lift still did not work, showing they haven't a clue. (The picture shows men undertaking a major overhaul in January 2024)
This is the reason of course we are not being told what the parts are—as based on the past efforts, they still will not have the lift working.
November when it stopped
It was the 18th November when the lift stopped working, with all this effort and cost for parts being spent, but we are not told how much it has cost so far—and still rising.
