THE NAVIGATION is still closed by the boat that sank between Bridge 4 & 5 on the Oxford Canal.

SunkOxfordThe Canal & River Trust tells its operations team has deployed spill pads and absorbent booms, Keith Gudgin reports.

This is to contain and remove as much oil that has spilled from the affected area.

Awaiting the owner

As the navigation is still closed it is obvious that the boat cannot be moved, and is awaiting the owner to arrange recovery.

It was over the weekend that the boat sank, blocking the waterway, but there is no intimation what actually occurred.

There are boats waiting to pass. Image is by West Midland Fire Service.

LATEST—We are informed that the boat is scheduled for removal tomorrow, Thursday.
