THE PROBLEM with the Loco Bridge on the Huddersfield Canal is turning into a real saga.
For parts are still being awaited, Keith Gudgin reports.
Stopped in November
It was in the distant past—way back in November of last year—that the Loco Bridge stopped working.
Regulars readers may remember in November and into December various parts were thought to be broken and replaced, only to discover those parts were not the problem.
Then since the 20th December every week we have been told 'We are still waiting for parts to fix the Loco Bridge'.
The parts that were obtained in the past were the motor that was told had failed and then the clutch was at fault, but both were okay, as neither cured the problem. This time we are not informed what the part it is that is being waited for.
Over 12 weeks
Over 12 weeks and still waiting.
But the bridge can still be hand operated and will be at 9am and 11am on Thursday 27th February. Call 03030 404040 by Tuesday 25th February.
Here's a different picture of the lift bridge we took on one of our cruises on the Huddersfield canals, showing the actual bridge.
