WAREHOUSE SWING BRIDGE 187 on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal has failed again.
This time its closure is due to a 'malfunction'. Keith Gudgin reports.
This is the third time it has failed this year, on the 17th April and the 5th June.
Canal & River Trust engineers attended yesterday and isolated the cause of the issue.
With a further visit today, Thursday, to assess and carry out repairs to the swing bridge, if possible.
Lancaster Canal
A vehicle caused the closure of the navigation on the Lancaster Canal on the 1st July when it crashed into the parapet, knocking masonry into the canal.
A work boat was required to remove the masonry in the waterway, that has now been completed.
The waterway is now fully open to navigation.
LATEST: Friday 11th—Warehouse Swing Bridge now open.
