THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY of the Minworth Flight on the Birmingham & Fazeley Canal reopening.
The flight was closed way back on the 16th June, Keith Gudgin reports.
Pump overheating
This was due to the pump that supplies the flight overheating and requiring repairs.
But now a temporary fix has been made to the pump that Canal & River Trust hopes will solve the problem of the lack of water.
It tells that its teams are monitoring its performance over the weekend and are hopeful this will help stabilise and improve water levels throughout the lock flight.
Repairs to paddles
However there are repairs required to the paddles, that are scheduled for next Tuesday.
If these are successful and the water levels continue to increase the trust aim to reopen the flight to navigation later in the week.
