WATER LEVELS ON PART of the Rochdale Canal have improved to a level boat movement can be allowed.
This is from Lock 9 at Hebden Bridge to Lock 19 at Todmorden, Keith Gudgin reports.
But this is only at weekends until 3pm on Mondays. Image by Pennine Waterways.
Gates padlocked
Between these times, we are told that the gates on the locks will be padlocked again to allow the canal to recharge water levels in the intervening period.
However the Manchester end of the waterway from Castlefield to the summit is still closed through lack of water, that came into force on Monday of this week.
