RECENT RAINFALL has begun to restore levels in the Skell, which feeds the Ripon Canal.
But restrictions still remain in place, Keith Gudgin reports.
Boats stuck
It was the 27th May that the Ripon Canal was closed, with boats stuck either in or out of the Ripon Marina.
But to ensure continued recovery and conserve water, restrictions still remain in place until further notice:
The navigation between Rhodesfield Lock and Bellfurrows Lock will remain closed to limit water loss and allow levels to stabilise.
But Oxclose Lock (pictured) is available but only with a maximum of two assisted passages from Monday to Friday, and not including bank holidays, between the hours of 10:30 am to 12:30pm.
