A COMMUNITY TRIP BOAT that was attacked and sunk by vandals has been fully repaired.
£6,000 raised
This was after £6,000 was raised with a fundraising scheme that was set up and more than 200 people donated money, Roger Fox reported.
So once again the 'Duchess' takes people along the Parrett in Langport, Somerset.
The boat that is powered by solar panels had sustained a great deal of damage with the bilge pumps being turned off and the solar panels damaged.
Turning off the pumps meant the boat then sank causing damage.
Police investigating
The vandalism happened last month with Avon and Somerset Police telling it was investigating a report of criminal damage leading to the sinking.
But the perpetrators have not been discovered.
