IN ADDITION TO THE CLOSURE of Grants Lock 30 caused by a 'boating incident', there is a further closure.

This is at Claydon Bottom lock 21, Keith Gudgin reports.

Caused, we are told due to damage to the offside bottom gate of the flight.

Cast iron gate

We are not informed what the damage is, as this is one of the very few cast iron gates left on the system.

However, the flight from lock 17 to 21 is now closed.

There is no intimation of when either of the two stoppages will be fixed and thus open again to navigation.

Aubrey's Lift Bridge

The repairs to another stoppage on the Oxford Canal, of Aubrey's Lift Bridge, have been completed and the navigation reopened.
