THE WINTER WORKS ON THE Pocklington Canal have been brought forward to be done in summer.
And being undertaken in a few days, Keith Gudgin reports.
Gardam Lock 8 on the waterway was scheduled to be repaired in winter, but has been brought forward, as the navigation is closed due to lack of water.
Navigation and towpath closed
Both the navigation and towpath are now closed whilst this work is undertaken, with Canal & River Trust telling:
Due to concerns over the likelihood of flooding at this lock in winter, the team have brought these works forward to September, taking advantage of the current canal closure at this location to minimise disruption.
