THE POLLUTION INCIDENT that occurred on the Chesterfield Canal on 31st October has still not been cleared.

It was scheduled to be cleared this month, Keith Gudgin reports.

But there is further evidence of pollution entering into the canal so the trust tell that clean-up cannot be completed as was expected.

Attending today

The Environment Agency are attending today with specialist contractors in attendance. It is hoped that the source of this spillage can be identified.

The stoppage spans Pudding Dyke Bridge to Dog Kennel Bridge as previously reported.

The original spillage was diesel, and it is assumed the new spillage is the same.
