THE 'WINTER WORKS' ON TWO navigations have been cancelled to be undertaken at a later date.
These are on the Grand Union and Monmouthshire & Brecon canals, Keith Gudgin reports.
The work on the Grand Union Canal was for North Grove Lock (71) that required top gate and landing repairs.
The towpath will now remain open it is told, but no information is given regarding the navigation.
Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal
The navigation closure at Lock 66 at Cwmcrawnon is cancelled with the intended closure removed. The work was to repair the quadrant.
The reason for the cancellation of these works 'is due to an emergency increase in scope elsewhere on the network'.
