VEHICLE STRIKES ON a bridge prompted 'robust' barriers being installed.
But these too are being damaged, Keith Gudgin reports.
Stop vehicular traffic
It is Nanney's Bridge 8 on the Middlewich Branch of the Shropshire Union Canal that is affected, where barriers were in place to stop vehicle traffic from crossing the bridge.
As these kept being removed stronger barriers were installed, but these too have been moved to allow vehicular traffic that is not allowed.
And though put back in place and secured, they have been moved aside once again.
Remain closed
Until these barriers are reinstated, both the navigation and the towpath will remain closed for safety reasons.
As Keith tells, when reporting this—'all this needs is a camera that would identify the culprits who keep moving the barrier.'
