THE HUDDERSFIELD NARROW CANAL is still completely closed.
It was on the 6th June that this navigation was closed, Keith Gudgin reports.
Could delay reopening
Canal & River Trust tell that if the [water] situation doesn't improve in time, it could delay the planned reopening of the lock before 1st August.
Meaning the navigation will by then be closed for three months.
However, whilst closed the repair to the collapsed embankment between Locks 10W and 11W is now complete with tree planting and landscaping left to be finished.
Landslip finished by 1st August
And the trust is finishing the enabling works to allow its teams to cross the Tame, to carry out the repairs to lock 11W, (pictured) and next week it plans to start the repairs to the landslip at Lock 11W, that should be finished by Friday 1st August.
