A MAN HAS BEEN discovered dead on a bench by the Nene in Northampton.
A CCTV image of a man who was found fatally injured on a towpath bench has prompted a search for his killer.
The man, Robert Brown, 57, was last seen at Morrisons supermarket in Northampton town centre before he was found dead on the bench by the river, Keith Gudgin reports.
Murder investigation
Northamptonshire Police have launched a murder investigation after being called to the towpath by the East Midlands Ambulance Service early Friday morning 1st August.
No arrests have yet been made and Brown's family are being supported by specialist officers.
The Nene is closed to pedestrians on the towpath and boats on the river between London Road bridge and Nunn Mills Road bridge. And the closure is expected to last until tomorrow, Tuesday.
