THE SELBY SWING BRIDGE has developed a fault and is now closed.
No assisted passage
There is now no assisted passage through as was allowed, Keith Gudgin reports.
Assisted passage was allowed, but now we are told the trust is now 'unable to provide assisted passage', today the 14th.
The trust is now having to source the needed part for the repairs to be undertaken, and hope to fix the bridge.
It was on the 10th July that the swing bridge last failed with a mechanical issue, and again before that on the 1st July again with a mechanical issue.
Failed twice in June
Then it failed on the 6th June with a mechanical fault and then failed again on the 16th of June, again with a mechanical issue.
Failing five times in the space of two months means there is something drastically wrong...
