IT WAS IN OCTOBER of last year that navigation through the top Lock 58 on the Tardebigge Flight was restricted.
Then in February this year this Worcester & Birmingham Canal lock was closed to navigation, Keith Gudgin reports.
This was due to the work on the wall and discovery of a void that took the work so long to complete.
But yesterday, Wednesday, the lock was completely repaired and re-opened for navigation.
Todmorden Lock
Work on the Todmorden Guillotine Lock 19 on the Rochdale Canal (pictured) that was closed on the 17th June has now been successfully repaired.
The guillotine gate wire ropes and associated components having been replaced, together with additional work.
Safety checks have been completed to ensure the continued safe operation of the lock and the scaffolding has been removed.
It was reopened for navigation yesterday, Wednesday.
