SHIPTON LIFT BRIDGE (219) FAILED on the 15th December, but still needs a 'repair solution to be made'.
This Oxford Canal bridge is in the down position and unavailable for navigation, Keith Gudgin reports.
Canal & River Trust state that a team has been mobilised to site to assess the extent of the damage and start work designing a repair solution.
Knocked of its mountings
This is the lift bridge that the trust stated was damaged by vandals knocking it off its mountings!
The latest is that repair works are 'planned to mobilise' on 29th December.
