ANOTHER RESTORATION SOCIETY is calling for volunteers.
The Sankey Canal Restoration Society (SCRS) is inviting volunteers of all experience levels to help clear vegetation around Winwick Lock and the bywash, Janet Friend reports.
Arranging a session
It is arranging a session that will run from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, 25th April.
This being part of ongoing efforts to restore the historic Sankey Canal.
Volunteers are asked to wear old clothes and sturdy boots, and to bring food and drinks. The meeting point is the car park on Old Alder Lane, just over the Mill Lane railway bridge. (Image by Pennine Waterways.)
Participants are covered
The society will provide tools and safety equipment, though volunteers are welcome to bring their own gloves. All participants will be covered by the society's insurance policy.
