Things may be looking up

WE HAVE just spent two long weekends at Ellesmere going just as far as Hampton Bank and Maestermyne Boats due to being ‘on call' for family commitments. We have never seen so many private boats from far afield on this stretch of the Llangollen with the Ellesmere arm full most days, writes Roger Spurr.

Boy recovers after being caught in propeller

IT WAS three years ago that nine years old Ali Layard fell from a hire boat on the Kennet & Avon Canal, but his father reversed the boat to pick him up and he was caught in its propeller, (Boy caught in propeller of reversing boat) suffering terrible injuries to his legs.
