STILL another waterway closes due to having no water.
This time its the Sheffield & South Yorkshire Navigation that is closed at Mexborough, Keith Gudgin reports.
The Canal & River Trust tell that the pound above the Top Lock at Mexborough has low water levels making it non navigable, but it will conduct a site inspection on Monday, the 18th, to see of the situation has improved.
Erewash Canal
Meanwhile the low water level on the Erewash Canal has not improved between Sandiacre Lock and Gallows Inn Lock, with the trust still blaming gates being left open—the same excuse as given two days ago!
Didn't someone close them? Of course not as they would make no difference whatsoever to the water level!
