THIS morning we included the story concerning boats going adrift on the Grand Union Canal owing to it overflowing it banks and washing away the towpath and of course loosening the pins.

The boater, Mark Eastmead, told how the flooded towpath had saturated the ground and that pins holding boats were pulling out and the boats drifting away.

Four and half years!

We have now learned that this has been the situation for four and a half years! Yet absolutely nothing has been done by Canal & River Trust to rectify the problem, even though told, we have learnt many times.

It was in December 2012 (we have purposely left the imprinted date on the photograph) showing the state of the waterway then, that was flooding over the banks at Leighton Buzzard.

Alas, over four years later is is still the same, risking a complete breach. Does CaRT care?
