THERE are plans to turn the Grade II listed 1882, Bulbourne Workshops on the Grand Union Canal into homes.
At present the workshops are used as offices of Canal & River Trust, but in conjunction with developers HO2 have plans to turn the buildings into living accommodation, Alan Tilbury tells us.
Four listed buildings
The proposal includes all the four Grade II Listed buildings and a further two buildings of ‘historical importance', into eight new homes with the 48 parking spaces, with the addition of a new pedestrian footbridge over the waterway.
In the past there have been objections to any alteration to the historic buildings, but it is believed these will be outweighed by the need for new homes in the area.
