I realise it is the done thing for the Canal & River Trust to get the blame for all the stoppages these days, but are we forgetting the canals are now around 200 years old and need a lot of attention?

If a lock breaks down there has to be a stoppages as in the case of the Aston Flight, and if a building is unsafe on the alternative Garrison Flight, then Canal & River Trust had to stop boaters risking passing by.

Perhaps we should blame all the rules and regulations that are thrust upon it from those at Brussels.
