CaRT wasting money on irrevelant items

I THINK the correspondent who states that boaters should not moan because CaRT has no money for maintenance has missed the most fundamental point about what boaters are moaning about. (Re: CaRT don't have the money) writes Keith Gudgin.

Raising funds to continue Montgomery restoration

THOUGH the grant of £2.5 millions from the Heritage Lottery Fund enabled the further restoration of the Montgomery Canal, the Restore The Montgomery Canal! appeal is raising funds for the volunteers to carry on after that.

CaRT have lost the plot

CaRT don't have the money

CaRT lost interest

I agree with James Henry that Canal & River Trust has lost interest in its core responsibility, and not only its neglect of maintenance but also of its control of illegal mooring.

Like the others who write on the internet I too know of boats that move just about half a mile and back again every fortnight to fiddle their supposed continuous cruising, with nothing done about them though I and I know of two others who have complained.

What next to spend our money on?

After cyclists, canoeists and now giving up nearly a 1,000 acres of our waterways for nature that James Henry writes about, and don't let us forget the potty 'poetry' on lock gates, hundreds of 'welcome' notices and even notices for ducks to read, I just wonder what will be the next hare-brained scheme conjured-up by CaRT to spend our money on?
