Stenson Lock closed this month

THE last of the six broad locks on the Eastern end of the Trent & Mersey Canal at Stenson will be closed to navigation for three days later this month owing to repairs.

It must be me reading it wrong!

DID YOU know there are 127 miles of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal. And correspondingly there should be 127 milestones. Well some are missing. There is a plan to replace those that are missing and refurbish those that need refurbishing. What a splendid idea! Writes Maffi Oxford.

Body found in Trent is Josh

IT HAS now been confirmed, as was expected, that the body found in the Trent is that of Sawley Marina resident, Josh Cotton, ending the month long search.

Over 1,000 restricted licences

DURING the past year Canal & River Trust were forced to issue over 1,130 restricted boat licences to those boaters without a home mooring, it decided were not fulfilling the terms of their licences.

RCR courses back 'home'

RIVER Canal Rescue has moved its boat and engine maintenance and electrics courses from Alvechurch Marina, back to its head office in Baswich, Stafford following its move back to its re-furbished headquarters, by bridge 101 on the Staffs & Worcs Canal.
