I feel that the Trust has only one major concern and that is visitors, hence all the notices that Keith Gudgin showed.
I could understand it better though if the notices were in sensible places, but the new one at the top lock at Fradley is three miles from civilisation, and though I have had a boat for years and have moored along there, the actual people you see are few and far between. And the notice is pointless, telling nothing. (Picture by Keith Gudgin.)
People visit Fradley as there is the caravan park and cafés as well as country walks, but you don't see many venturing past the top lock as there is nothing, just Kings Bromley Marina a few miles away, that I can't see as any attraction.
As Keith says, it would be better having those three work on the paddle of Woodend Lock that is causing such a bottleneck, only one now working and a narrow lock at that.
