A MAN regularly exposing himself on the Leeds & Liverpool towpath at Blackburn has landed himself a community order and fine.
Martin Phillip Goodsmark was seen on the towpath with his trousers around his ankles, showing all, Blackburn magistrates heard. Alan Tilbury tells us.
Seen again
He was spotted by a jogger once who took little notice, but when the man was seen again the following week exposing himself, he worried about him being seen by children or women, so reported it to the police.
Goodsmark, 46, pleaded guilty to indecent exposure, but in his defence it was stated that he had mental health difficulties and would not normally go out on his own, but his carer had been taken to hospital and he had to take his dog out. The exposure was not directed at anyone but was a random act.
He received a community order for 18 months together with a 40-day rehabilitation activity requirement. Fined £120 with £85 victim surcharge and £60 costs.
