SUCH is the concern of the quality of the drinking water supply at Marsworth Wharf on the Grand Union Canal, that Canal & River Trust has closed the services.

LATEST—the water has now been turned back on Keith Gudgin tells us, but with no further explanation.

Boaters were complaining about the water, so the Trust brought in a company to test its quality, and it was found to contain  something called Presumptive Pseudomonas AM0088 at 3 cfu/100ml, Keith Gudgin tells us.

Boil water

However, Thames Water maintain that this is not harmful and states it does not even test for it, but boiling the water before use eradicates all traces should any boaters have concerns whilst the Trust is awaiting further sampling results, which will be undertaken next Monday.
