THERE is a sunken boat in the Peak Forest Canal, but navigation is possible by the side of it with care.
The boat is near Bridge 7, Captain Clarke's Bridge, sinking yesterday, Thursday, and has sunk in the middle of the waterway Keith Gudgin tells us.

The Trust is aware of the boat and is making an effort to have it moved out of way of passing boats.
It is not known how it came to be sunk, but as something of a wreck, and perhaps taking in water it has possibly been abandoned.
